Academic Activities丨Teachers from our school participated in the 2023 China Healthy City Science Academic Annual Conference

The first academic annual conference on healthy cities in China, co-sponsored by the Healthy Cities Professional Committee of the Chinese Urban Science Research Association and the Health Geography Professional Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society, is the first academic conference on healthy cities in China. The academic annual conference was successfully held at Tongji University in Shanghai on October 26th and 27th. It aims to exchange research progress and practical exploration of healthy cities, discuss cross-disciplinary innovative research mechanisms and teaching methods, and form an interdisciplinary healthy city research network.

As a teacher from our college, Siqi Chen attended this academic conference with her research “Chinese Teenagers’ Perceptions Towards Home Study Environmental Barriers and Facilitators during the Post-pandemic Period: A Case Study in Shenzhen”. The present study applied mixed method approaches with quantitative and qualitative data in one high school in Shenzhen. The findings indicate the status and potential of home environments for studying; moreover, recommendations from students’ perspective of creating comfortable and practical home study environments for them.

This annual meeting responds to the national development strategy of Healthy China, providing an inter-professional, high-level, international exchange platform for researchers in different professional fields of healthy cities and promoting healthy cities' multi-disciplinary development and talent development. A good foundation has been laid for cultivation on this basis.
