This major boasts over 300 enrolled students and 10 full-time teachers, 8 teachers with vice-senior professional title and above, 8 teachers with the tile of National Certified Safety Engineer and 2 teachers with the title of National Certified Safety Appraiser. This major is the first full-time undergraduate program launched in Shanghai under the background of “Big City, High Safety”, which aims to cultivate high-quality application oriented talents competent for design, research, testing, appraisal, monitoring and management tasks in the field of safety engineering by focusing on building and chemical industries as well as fire protection features. Major courses include Principle of Safety Science, Safety System Engineering, Safety Information Engineering, Electrical Safety Engineering, Fire and Explosion Hazards Control, Safety Engineering of Special Equipments, Safety Ergonomics and Safety Technologies on Hazardous Chemicals and Management.
